+ Only a few had less or more in timing

Fluency:
Fluency has improved; there are still pauses, no eh, eh, eh (but only two of your used English fillers)

Pronunciation:
Pronunciation has also improved; all tried hard to pronounce -ed in the past.

Grammar:
There were mistakes in grammar but nothing that interfered with communication.


III. Assignment of Oral Presentation 3

TOPIC: A HISTORICAL FIGURE I ADMIRE

TIME: 5 - 7 minutes

TASK: Prepare an oral presentation about an important historical figure. This person can be alive or dead. The presentation should not last longer than seven minutes. Prepare a Powerpoint presentation.

V. SPEAKING:  Introduction to Thanksgiving celebration. Prepare a short presentation (3 minutes) to give next Thursday, November 26th. A Powerpoint is desirable.

Alvaro (The story of the Pilgrims/Puritans, their voyage to the New World)

Ana Karenina (Arrival of the Pilgrims to the new world, difficulties and challenges)

Cristian (the first Thanksgiving; the official establishment of Thanskgiving as a national U.S. holiday)

Charlie: Thanksgiving dinner meat (one recipe)

Hadda: Thanksgiving dinner side dishes (one recipe) 

Diana: Desserts (choose one recipe)


c. Traditions: 

Grace: Thanksgiving Parades; traveling

Rony: The President pardons a turkey; watching a footbal game after Thansgiving dinner

Noelia: Say what one is most thankful for;
break the turkey wishbone for lunch

VI. GRAMMAR: THE FUTURE TENSES

a) The Simple Present: The plane leaves at 4 p.m.

b) The Present Progressive: I´m leaving on Sunday.

c) The Idiomatic Future (or going to future): I am going to speak at a conference next month.

d) The Simple Future, will:  I´ll help you as soon as I finish this.   I will be rich one day.

e) Future Continous: I will be flying to Europe by this time tomorrow.

f) The Future Perfect: I will have obtained a raise by the end of the year.

g) The Future Perfect Progressive: By 2024, I will have been studying at Harvard for two years.
